Shannon Abler is excited to be part of such an amazing team of women. She has spent the last 18 years as the front desk supervisor and member of the leadership team at Pediatrics 5280. She has also been a volunteer at Brent's Place, a safe, clean place for children and their families to live while going through bone marrow transplants for the past 15 years. She has a passion for helping people and hopes to use her experience to help families find the right behavioral health specialist to fit their individual needs.

Natalie Vona, PhD

Dr. Natalie Vona is a Licensed Psychologist in the State of Colorado and a registered PSYPACT provider, allowing her to offer telepsychology services in participating PSYPACT states. For a current list of eligible states, visit psypact.org.

Dr. Vona earned both her Master’s and Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University in Boston. Her clinical training included an internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Kennedy Krieger Institute/Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she worked with children, adolescents, and families in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She also received specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) at McLean Hospital’s Inpatient Adolescent Unit, conducted neuropsychological assessments in a state hospital in Boston, provided pediatric psychological services at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Boston Children’s Hospital, and worked as a school psychologist in the Baltimore City Public Schools.
Dr. Vona has been in private practice in the Denver area since 2008. She worked onsite within the Pediatrics 5280 practice, and now continues to collaborate closely with their team as an independent private practice clinician to support the mental and behavioral health needs of their patients. She specializes in therapy for children, adolescents, families, and couples. She also works with adults navigating life transitions, anxiety, and mood-related concerns.
Dr, Vona has advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which helps couples strengthen emotional bonds and improve communication, and Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), which supports connection and healing within family relationships. She incorporates evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), a parent-based model designed to help caregivers respond effectively to children and teens with anxiety and OCD. Dr. Vona also has a specialty in pediatric sleep and health-related behavioral concerns.
In the area of sports psychology, Dr. Vona helps youth and teen athletes build confidence, manage performance anxiety, recover after injury, and stay motivated. She collaborates with parents/ coaches/ trainers to support the athlete’s growth both on and off the field.​

Cindy Hall, MSW, LCSW
Founding Partner & Clinician at 5280 BMHC
Cindy Hall, MS, LCSW earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Minor in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University. She then obtained her Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Denver, subsequently fulfilling the requirements for her Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential.

Cindy has extensive clinical experience, having worked at The Cleo Wallace Center (now Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health) and the Tennyson Center for Children. In these roles, she served as a child and family therapist across various settings, including day treatment, residential care, sub-acute, and inpatient programs. Additionally, she led an Assessment/Diagnostic Unit and collaborated with an in-home therapy team.

In response to a shortage of mental health professionals in Hawaii, Cindy contracted with the state to provide crisis intervention services for children and families, traveling there as needed. Beyond her clinical work, she spent a decade teaching at a local charter school, further expanding her impact on child development and education. She currently continues her work in social services as a Camp Coordinator for a small oncology camp in Colorado.

Cindy specializes in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and a range of other mental health and social challenges. She employs a variety of clinical techniques to support children, teens, adults, and families. Her diverse professional experience has provided her with deep expertise in human development, relationship and communication skills, executive functioning skills, trauma, and navigating peer and family dynamics.

Caroline Stone (Dollase), MSW, LSW
Clinician at 5280 BMHC
Caroline Stone (Dollase), MSW, LSW attended Boston University and graduated with a BA in Psychology and a Minor in Autism Spectrum Disorders. She attended the Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Denver where she earned a Master of Social Work and is now in the process of completing the requirements for her Licensed Clinical Social Work license.
Caroline’s experience has primarily been in school settings such as Ricks Center for Gifted Children, Cherry Creek School District, and Douglas County School District. She has worked with a wide variety of ages and abilities throughout her time in schools. Caroline had experience with psychosocial assessments for special education evaluations and social-emotional service provision for students.
Caroline changed paths from school settings to therapeutic settings so she can prioritize working with clients in a more meaningful way. She has a strong passion for finding the strengths in each client and utilizing those strengths to create an effective treatment plan.

Emmy Mumford, BA
Predoctoral Extern/Clinician at 5280 BMHC
Emmy Mumford, MA, grew up in Vermont and received her BA from the University of Vermont in 2020 and her MA from the University of Denver in 2024. She began the Clinical Psychological Doctoral Program at the Graduate School of Professional Psychology at the University of Denver in 2022 and anticipates graduating in 2027.
As part of her pre-doctoral training, she worked at a dialectical behavioral clinic and provided both individual and group therapy to adolescents, adults, and families. Since worked at 5280 Behavioral Mental Health, Emmy has focused on working with children and young adults. She has primarily focused on working with middle school through college aged individuals.
She is currently being certified in Adoption Competency Mental Health Training through NTI and should be completed with training by August 2025. Emmy has additionally been offering assessment services for attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder and is trained in how to administer the WAIS, WISC, Continuous Performance Test (CPT), BRIEF-2, BASC, and Conners.

Laura Anderson, MSW, LCSW

Laura graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BAS in psychology in 2001 from the University of Colorado at Boulder. For the next year, her training continued as a Youth Treatment Counselor at the Denver Children’s Home, counseling under supervision, at risk, abused and neglected children and adolescents residing there. In 2005, she received an MSW degree from Colorado State University. As part of her program there, she interned at Adams County Mental Health Center providing support and counseling to school age children in the Day Treatment Program. Laura completed an internship and two additional years of training at Denver Family Institute where she received intensive training from licensed clinicians and provided individual, couples, and family therapy to clients under their supervision.
Laura began her career with the Psychiatry Department at Children’s Hospital Colorado in 2002 as a Mental Health Counselor and then a Programming Coordinator for the Inpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Units. In 2005, after receiving a Master of Social Work degree, she became a family therapist, conducting individual, family, and group therapy to children and adolescents on the Inpatient Psychiatric Units and in the Partial Hospitalization Program. In 2006, Children’s Hospital Colorado sent Laura to Phoenix, Arizona to attend a training on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to then implement DBT skills training into the Inpatient programming at Children’s Hospital Colorado. Laura was sent to two more DBT conferences in Colorado, one of those given by the founder of DBT, Marsha Linehan. Laura implemented DBT skills training into the programming on the Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatric Unit, leading and coordinating twice weekly DBT Skills Groups on the unit. In 2010, after her son was born, Laura left her full time position on the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit to work part time on the Psychiatric Emergency Services team at Children’s Hospital Colorado. There, she conducted Psychiatric Crisis Assessments in the Emergency Department at Children's, working with the Psychiatric Crisis Team and across systems to place Patients in the appropriate level of care.
In 2016, Laura changed positions within the Psychiatry Department (now called the Pediatric Mental
Health Institute) at Children’s Hospital to work in the Outpatient Clinic as a therapist. During her time in the Outpatient Clinic, Laura provided evidence-based treatment to children, adolescents and their families. From 2017 to 2019, she co-facilitated a multifamily group for children ages 5-7 with emotional and behavioral dysregulation and disruptive behaviors. She also co-facilitated a DBT skills multifamily group for teens and their families from 2017 to 2020. In 2020, she established the telehealth multifamily DBT skills group for teens out of the Highlands Ranch Therapy Care location of Children's Hospital. She ran that telehealth group until June of 2022. In June 2022, Laura started her private practice, Laura Anderson Family Therapy, LLC.
